Description

Superficial switching is seen as being transitory neurological confusion that happens usually only in times of stress, whereas deep level switching involves transposed hemispheres and is usually present all the time. The concept of deep level switching was introduced in the late 1980’s by Hap Barhydt.  Charles Krebs sees deep level switching as a special case of the deep switching that occurs as a survival response in the brain stem and limbic system. The two hemispheres of the brain are efficient at processing different types of information: the logic hemisphere processes sequential bits of information, whereas the gestalt brain processes global, whole picture information. Both are needed for performing most tasks and complex thinking. In deep level switching the incoming information is sent to the wrong hemisphere for processing. Deep level switching problems are seen to originate either in early childhood trauma (the most common) or to be inherited (through karma, the genes or energetically). Charles found that Psychological Reversal was often involved with this deep level switching.
