The Temporo-Mandibular Joint (TMJ) is functionally linked to every other joint of the body.
TMJ muslces are often linked to emotional issues. TMJ must also adapt to how teeth are working.
For these reasons it is really frequent to find a great amount of stress linked to TMJ.
Test
You can use this technique as a pretest or as set-up, according to your working modality and then correct what you find as you are used to.
- Test Quadriceps, Sartorius, Psoas, Gluteus medius: they must be balanced to proceed.
- Place a tongue depressor (stick) in client’s mouth flat between back teeth.
- Retest quadriceps, Sartorius, Psoas, Gluteus medius.
- If in balance test with sticks at 90°.
- Retest Quadriceps, Sartorius, Psoas, Gluteus medius.
Balance
Balance with your usual methods.
For TFH practitioners for example balancing 14 muscles.
Check
Repeat the test to verify the correction.
Test if more corrections are needed.
