Formatting is a way of using a sequence of Hand Modes (Hand Mode (HM)) and Acupuncture Points, to address a specific body area or function. If our body acts like a Biocomputer (Alan Beardall DC), then a Format is like opening a specific folder, in which there can be many other pieces of information or even many other sub-folders.
This way of working was originally invented by Richard D. Utt L.Ac, and introduced in his 1988 workshop “Applied Physiology and the Brain”. In this workshop, Richard taught students that by Pause Locking (see Pause-Lock) the Anatomy Mode mode and Gland Mode, while simultaneously touching the acupuncture points CV 23 (Corner Spring) and CV 24 (Container of Fluids), he could open the “folder” Brain, and then, Pause Locking other acupuncture points, he could open the sub-folders Hippocampus, Amygdala, Basal Ganglia; and then using the Physiology Mode he could assess the physiological functions of those specific Brain nuclei.
Between the end of the 80’s and the beginning of the 90’s, Richard Utt created then a system that afterwards was called Acupressure Formatting to provide the specificity required to address specific physiological functions directly.
Formatting uses the frequency resonance “match” between specific combinations of Acupuncture points and Hand Modes, and specific physiological functions or anatomical structures. If there is a frequency match denoted by a change in muscle response when these multi-acupoint combinations are touched and/or HM held simultaneously, this indicates stress in specific physiological functions or anatomical structures activated by these acupoint-HM combinations.
In the Formatting language, there is a difference if the HM and the Acupresssure points are used (with Circuit Localization (CL)) one after the other or simultaneously. When the Format is written, between one HM and the other, or between the points,
- If there is a “+” it means that the different aspects must be Pause Locked one after the other.
- If there is a “x” it means that the different aspects must be Pause Locked simultaneously.
Acupressure Formatting expands exponentially the possibilities to communicate with the body.
Authors like Charles Krebs PhD (LEAP and Brain Integration) and Hugo Tobar (Neuroenergetic Kinesiology) have created many different Acupressure Formats for a number of different body structures and functions.
