Cooperation is one of our core values and sharing Knowledge is the basic way to cooperate in our field. We are certain that cooperation will bring advantages to everyone involved even if at first glance it is not easy to see that from our “competitive” background and education.
The first step toward cooperation is to share what everyone of us is doing, our personal contribution to the community. Therefore we share all the contents published in Knowlative database by Knowlative Staff under Creative Commons Copyright Licenses:
- Every picture marked with the Knowlative watermark and containing the CC logo is published under Creative Commons Copyright License. This means that you can copy it and use it outside Knowlative even for commercial use (like advertisements, manuals, presentations, share it in your class). You just have to use it as a whole and not modified (see Knowlative Pictures and Images for more details).
- We release Common domain techniques and “base” knowledge under CC license, too. Every piece of content that is in the Knowlative Database before the release of the Open Editor is published under Creative Commons License by “Knowy”, our mascot. In the Knowy Author page you can find the Creative Common License Knowy uses to release her information (see Knowlative Contents and “Base” Knowledge for more details).
Creative Commons is an American non profit organization. It was founded in 2001 with the mission of “realizing the full potential of the Internet — universal access to research and education, full participation in culture — to drive a new era of development, growth, and productivity.”
Creative Commons created a group of copyright licenses that allow every Author to spread the Knowledge she/he is publishing freely. There are several licenses with different level of restriction you can chose to apply to protect your work while sharing it (creativecommons.org/share-your-work/licensing-types-examples/).
There is strong scientific evidence that in every aspect of our life cooperation wins over competition (Cooperative Health is the future!). One of the main aims of Knowlative is to improve every aspect of an integrative approach to human health. The only way to do this cooperation. And the best way to cooperate in the age of information is to share knowledge.
If you agree with our Vision consider publishing some of your techniques under one of the Creative Common licenses. To know more about them please visit creativecommons.org/.
