Extrinsic Tongue Muscles

The extrinsic muscles of the tongue origin outside the tongue and insert in it. They are:

• Genioglossus;
• Hyoglossus;
• Chondroglossus;
• Styloglossus;
• Palatoglossus – Glossopalatinus (that is also part of Palate Muscles).
